About Us
My husband and I have been hobby breeders enjoying showjumping and dressage for most of our lives. 20 years ago everyone was out competing predominately on thoroughbreds off the track. Over the last 20 years most horses in showjumping and dressage are purpose bred and are now predominately warmbloood

We had recently lost our old Thoroughbred stallion by Balmoral Boy, Balmoral Bravo, who goes back in his pedigree to the legendary Precipitation. Precipitation being the sire of the influential Furioso who is seen in many modern sport horse pedigrees.

Precipitation is also the sire of a NZ thoroughbred born in 1956 named Agricola. Agricola sired a racehorse named Bold General who was renamed Apache with the EFA and went on to Olympic showjumping under Vicki Roycroft. The eventing and jumping supersire Brilliant Invader is out of a mare by Agricola who is of course by Precipitation.

Once our stallion had passed on we acquired a half share in a new Warmblood stallion named Roosendaal BFD (bred by Brokeford Stud of Koo Wee Rup) who is  by Rabino out of a Romedio mare and  we started looking for thoroughbred mares for sale that went back to good old showjumping lines such as Precipitation. After many hours googling and reading ads for thoroughbreds horses for sale I suddenly realised that unless I was to call about every horse advertised and look up their breeding on the stud book website it was impossible to know the horses bloodlines.

We discussed the situation and felt that there was a need for a website that purely advertised thoroughbreds horses off the track for sale, ex race horses for sale that provided a five generation pedigree so people could pick their mares or riding horses on preferred bloodlines.   Thoroughbreds off the Track offers FREE ADVERTISING for horses and gear for sale and is funding purely by banner advertising.

Hopefully by the development of this website we will be able to find the modern thoroughbreds which are influencing the perfomance horse world and provide some sort of feedback to the heritability of the sires.

Through this website I can now report that we have managed to source four broodmares to be put with Roosendaal BFD this season with bloodlines including Precipitation, Grey Sovereign, Biscay and Tudor Melody.  Roosendaal BFD is now performing well under saddle and has just finished a very successful 6 month season competing at Preliminary Dressage with Dolly (Bianca) Joyce and is now ready to commence showjumping with David Joyce this upcoming show season.  He will be standing to outside mares for the first time this in the 2010 breeding season and we welcome thoroughbred and warmblood mares.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like to leave any suggestions or feedback on our website.
